Lockdown Life Photography Competition

During the last three months in lockdown we have been forced to conduct our lives differently.  With schools and offices closed, and restrictions on travel, we have been challenged to seek different ways to spend our days. Whilst this unique time clearly brings challenges, it has also brought opportunities. For families to spend more time together. For members of the community to get to know each other and support each other. For noticing nature carrying on around us. For learning new skills. For baking and cooking new recipes. For finding new ways to connect with friends and family (maybe seeing them more often as a result). For finding fun things to do on video calls. For having more time for a hobby.

We are hosting a photography challenge and invite you to share photographs of things you’ve seen or done that you’ve enjoyed or that show a unique perspective of the area during the lockdown period.

The winners will be chosen by the community.  Depending on the number of entries, a first sift may be conducted via an impartial judge (not a CARA committee member). The final vote will go to the residents.

Conditions of entry:

The competition is open to residents of the Georgeham Parish.

There are 3 age categories, each will be judged separately.

Child (up to 12 years)

Teenager (13 to 19 years)

Adult (20 yrs +)

Images must be taken by the entrant, and reflect a positive aspect of the lockdown period.

A maximum of 3 images per entrant.

In each category there will be 4 prizes: 1st - £25 and certificate, 2nd - £15 and certificate, 3rd - £10 and certificate. Highly commended - certificate.

The closing date for the entries is 30th June 2020.

Winners will be announced mid July 2020.

Winning photographs will be presented in a gallery on the CARA website. As such those submitting entries are asked to confirm that they give permission for their photograph(s) to be used for this purpose if selected.

How to submit your entry:
