With a different kind of Christmas upon us we’re looking at ideas to inject some Christmas sparkle and spirit into the festive season for the community.
There are a couple of national/worldwide Christmas initiatives that we can all join in to help to bring a feeling of Christmas spirit and togetherness.
The Big Christmas Lights Switch On
At 6pm on Saturday 28th November people all over the land will be illuminating their gardens and windows with festive lights. An instant injection of Christmas cheer 🤩 Have you got your lights ready? Bob Gibbs at Bridge Farm is all set for the big switch on of the Gibbs family Christmas lights extravaganza that day. There’s no pressure to aspire to such a display, unless you really feel like giving them a run for their money! 😆 A sprinkling of lights around the windows and gardens of the Georgeham Parish community would be magical.
Christmas Eve Jingle Bells
AT 6pm on Christmas Eve people around the world will be standing on their doorsteps ringing bells to share some Christmas magic and see Santa on his way. If you don’t have bells you can bang your pans, blow your trumpets, make whatever noise you can!
To get the Christmas spirit stirring early, and to perfect our bell ringing ready for Christmas Eve, we’re encouraging everyone to step out at 6pm each Thursday in December for a practice run! Let’s fill the villages with some weekly Christmas cheer 🎉🛎
There will be an organised evening of christmas carols, with small groups of carol singers moving around the villages. More details to follow. Watch this space….
Please share the details of these events with your family, friends, and neighbours. And if you have other ideas for bringing some Christmas cheer to the Georgeham Parish community please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org
