Housing Needs Survey Findings Report
Residents Support Requested in Completing the Housing Needs Survey
21st March 2019
All residents in the Parish are encouraged to participate in the housing needs survey. The purpose of the survey is to discover the full extent of housing need which might exist in the Parish. It aims to explore underlying need and provide a basis for future planning. The Local and Neighbourhood Plans identify the problems facing rural villages, who experience a shrinking resident population. The cost of housing (rented or to buy) is unaffordable on local wages.
The Survey is distributed by the Parish Council which has obtained funding for this. The survey asks for detailed personal information. Please note that the Parish Council does NOT see or analyse the information gathered, The analysis is done independently and only the summary of that information will be passed to the lead Parish Councillor, Tina Luxton.
This may eventually support the establishment of a Community Land Trust.
The survey will be hand delivered to all residents in the parish during the week commencing 24th March. Drop in events have been organised for those wishing to discuss their housing needs with a Rural Housing Enabler and representative from Devon Home Choice. More details can be found in the links below.
