There is still £9,000 of uncommitted funds in the

AONB Grant fund.

Grants can be considered where a project fulfils a purpose for which the fund was set up, namely….

PROTECT OR ENHANCE THE AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY

AND PEOPLES ENJOYMENT OF IT.

The area of outstanding natural beauty comprises a number of elements; natural landscape, seascape, marine and terrestrial environments, habitats and heritage.

The amount of the Fund is modest and Cara offers three types of grant:

Small - £250 and under

Medium - £251 to £1000

Large - £1001 to £5000

Whilst £5000 is the maximum level of grant, grants awarded are likely to be much less than that. If, however, there is a truly exceptional project, the Cara Committee may decide to grant more.
