Following the successful conclusion of the recent court case,Cara now has limited funds available for one-off grants towards projects based in the Georgeham Parish.
The CARA AONB FUND was set up to meet the costs and liabilities of the court case. As Cara won the case, there are funds remaining. Grants can be considered where a project fulfils a purpose for which the fund was set up, namely….
PROTECT OR ENHANCE THE AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY AND PEOPLES ENJOYMENT OF IT.
The area of outstanding natural beauty comprises a number of elements; natural landscape, seascape, marine and terrestrial environments, habitats and heritage.
The amount of the Fund is modest and Cara offers three types of grant:
Small - £250 and under
Medium - £251 to £1000
Large - £1001 to £5000
Whilst £5000 is the maximum level of grant, grants awarded are likely to be much less than that. If, however, there is a truly exceptional project, the Cara Committee may decide to grant more.
Cara will not normally fund an entire project itself.
Cara is providing £35,000 and Ruda Holiday Park will provide match funding for projects in the community. Ruda Holiday Park values its relationships with its neighbours in Croyde and is pleased to be able to support with these local initiatives.
